Das letzte Spiel der Spirit of Cricket Liga zwischen TSG Rohrbach Stallions und KCC war sozusagen die Generalprobe für das Finale der Spirit of Cricket Liga. Beide Mannschaften haben sich für das Finale am 1.Juli qualifiziert. In diesem Spiel wollten beide Mannschaften Ihre Stärken und Schwächen analysieren.

KCC gewann das Auslosen und entschied sich aufgrund der windigen und bewölkten Wetterlage für das Bowling. Trotzdem konnten die KCC Bowler den Vorteil nicht für sich nutzen und haben am Anfang des Innings viele zusätzliche Punkte an die gegnerische Mannschaft vergeben. TSG Rohrbach wiederum hat dies genutzt und eine 100+ Punkte Partnerschaft für 1 Wicket gemacht.

In dieser Situation kam KCC’s zuverlässigster Bowler Qamar und hat, wie erwartet, die bis dahin erfolgreiche Partnerschaft gebrochen. Danach nahm KCC regelmäßig Wickets. TSG Rohrbach spielte langsam und stetig mit kleinen Partnerschaften weiter. Es kommt ein Moment im Spiel, als die Partnerschaft zwischen Kiran und Raghu für den KCC gefährlich zu werden beginnt. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt hat Mubassher diese Partnerschaft gebrochen und Kiran war bowled. Am Ende dieses Innings hatte TSG Rohrbach 299 Punkte in 50 Overs erreicht. Qamar war ein ausgesprochen ökonomischer Bowler des KCC, da er nur 39 Punkte in 10 Overs zugelassen hat. Auch Mubassher war ein sehr erfolgreicher Bowler und hat 4 Wickets genommen.

Jetzt brauchte KCC 300 Punkte in 50 Over, um dieses Spiel gewinnen. Das war eine riesige Herausforderung. Für das hochmotivierte Team des KCC schien dies jedoch nicht unmöglich zu sein.

KCC hat mit einer brillianten und schnellen 100+ Eröffnungspartnerschaft zwischen Adnan und Mubasher geantwortet. Adnan, in ausgezeichneter Form, setzte das Spiel erfolgreich fort und erzielte das zweite aufeinanderfolgende Century. Nach der Trinkpause verlor KCC das erste Wicket. Danach büßten sie mehrere Wickets in kurzer Folge ein. In dieser schwierigen Lage kamen Nasrullah und Waqar, um den KCC aus dem derzeitigen Tief zu holen. Unglücklicherweise war Nasrullah nur 3 Punkte von seinem ersten Fifty entfernt, als er out war. Jetzt brauchte der KCC nur noch 10 Punkte,  um dieses Spiel zu gewinnen. Qamar hat dies für den KCC erstklassig mit einem Vierer und einem Sechser in Folge erreicht. Adnan 102, Nasruallah 47 und Waqar 45* waren die besten Batsman des KCC.

Match Report

The last pool game of Spirit of Cricket League in between TSG Rohrbach Stallions and KCC was in fact a full dress rehearsal of the Final of Spirit of Cricket League. Both teams have already qualified for the final and wanted to test their strength and weakness prior to the final showdown on 1^st July.

KCC won the toss and keeping in mind the overcast and windy situation decided to bowl first.

However, KCC bowlers were not able to take the advantage of the situation and gave lot of extras from the start of the innings. TSG Rohrbach took advantage of it and cruised to 100+ runs partnership for 1^st Wicket. At this situation, KCC introduced their most dependable bowler Qamar, who as expected broke the partnership. Afterwards, KCC kept on getting the wickets on regular basis. However, TSG Rohrbach moved on slowly and steadily with small partnerships. There was a time when the partnership in between Kiran and Raghu seemed to be threatening. At that time Mubassher provided the much needed breakthrough and bowled Kiran to add to the worries of TSG Rohrbach.

At the end of the innings TSG Rohrbach managed to put a total of 299 in 50 Overs. Qamar was the most economical bowler from KCC, conceding only 39 runs in his allocated overs and Mubassher was the most successful bowler with 4 wickets under his tally.

Now KCC was required to chase down the 300 in 50 Overs which was a huge task to achieve. However, in front of the highly motiviated KCC team it seemed to be a piece of cake. KCC responded strongly with a brilliant and quick opening partnerschip of 100+ in between KCC’s captain Adnan and Mubassher. Adnan continued with his brilliant form and scored the second consecutive century of the season. After drink breaks KCC lost their first wicket and afterwards they lost few wickets in quick sessions. At that time Nasruallah and Waqar came to the rescue of KCC and scored a partnership of 100+ to make sure that KCC gets closer to the victory. Unfortunately, Nasrullah got out only 3 runs short of his maiden fifty for KCC. At that time KCC required only 10 runs for the victory and Qamar achieved it in style for KCC by hitting a four and a massive six consecutively. Adnan 102, Nasruallah 47 and Waqar 45* were top scorers from KCC respectively.
